OnlyFans CEO Keily Blair says the company’s first major roadmap change is offering financial products to its 2.5 million active creators. Echoing the goals of OnlyFans’ investor James Sagan (of Architect Capital) which we reported on this summer, Only Fans is getting closer to opening a bank of its own.

Earlier this year, Blair spoke onstage at Fortune magazine’s “Most Powerful Women Summit” and sat down with the publication’s Emma Hinchliffe for a wide-ranging interview afterward—just published last week.

Banking on OnlyFans

Keily Blair went from London-based partner of an elite law firm to a position at OnlyFans, and eventually the CEO of the adult content tech platform in 2023. When a bank rejected her as a customer because of her association with OF, she suddenly had firsthand experience with a problem the site’s creators have everyday. Risk-averse financial institutions discriminate against sex workers, even legal ones, leaving them without access to basic bank accounts and credit cards.

Blair’s debanking incident was first reported in an interview with the Financial Times, but Fortune‘s recent interview sheds more light on her experience and how it’s driving the company to finally create a bank of its own.

“There’s a huge difference between perceived risk and actual risk,” Blair tells Fortune, adding that OnlyFans is better placed to judge creator risk than a bank is. “We have full visibility into the content that’s being created.

Blair offers no specifics dates or details on the financial services, but she seems adamant that banking is coming, and the interview and article suggest payments, savings and loans are among the products being studied.

OnlyFans nearly lost its payment providers in 2021, which Fortune says is part of why its founders sold. Owner Leonid Radvinsky died earlier this year and Architect Capital then bought a 16% stake that valued the company at about $3.15 billion.

OF an IPO Soon?

Blair also talks about Initial Public Offerings, but she’s careful to discuss what OF is planning. “We’re thinking about that pathway towards an IPO and working toward that as a potential goal for the company,” she says. She named Reddit’s 2024 listing as the closest model, calling OnlyFans “a social media platform with a high concentration of adult content.”

The numbers behind her ambition are big enough. OF’s 2025 Gross Transaction Volume is  $7.85 billion, which flowed through the platform from user spending. The platform cut is 20% leading to $1.55 billion in net revenue, which content creators pocketed 80% of the transactions, totaling approximately $6.3 billion for the fiscal year alone.

Also revealed in the interview, new features to come including “recommendation feed,” which they are currently testing in the Netherlands with more markets planned; and “AI microdramas,” in which the company helps creators make short serialized videos with AI.
