Courtney Clenney, the OnlyFans model charged with second-degree murder in the 2022 for stabbing her boyfriend Christian Obumseli to death. has reached a plea agreement with Miami-Dade prosecutors.

Revealed today, August 10, Clenney’s sentence includes six years in prison for the killing. She pled guilty to manslaughter with a deadly weapon and was sentenced after agreeing to the plea deal on July 31.  Had the case gone to trial, she could have faced up to 30 years on manslaughter charges in the death of Obumseli. With this deal she may get out as soon as two years with time served— she’s been behind bars since Aug. 2022.

Appearing in an orange jumpsuit and looking much different than her online persona, Clenney, 30, was initially charged with second-degree murder for the stabbing of Obumseli, 27, at the couple’s condo in Miami. While their relationship had reportedly involved “numerous domestic violence incidents” Clenney’s attorneys alleged she was a battered partner who killed her boyfriend in self defense. But prosecutors argued it was the other way around, and that Obumseli was the one suffering domestic violence.

Arrested in Hawaii where she was in rehab for substance abuse, Clenney was held without bond in a Miami-Dade jail while awaiting trial. She was also sentenced to five years’ probation and will serve 30 years in prison if she violates it.

Obumseli’s mother, Ocio Obumseli, told the court that her son’s death was “darkest day of my life” and spoke of the pain her family still lives with since he was killed.

Clenney, who went by Courtney Tailor on social media, still has an Instagram page, but it’s been inactive since 2022. She currently still has 1.7 million followers on the platform. One of the most heavily covered criminal cases involving an adult creator in recent years, this case has received wide spread media attention for its ties to OnlyFans, but the larger conversation around toxic relationships and domestic violence and how they can lead to tragic endings, is far more significant.

The New York Post (which also shares some grisley crime scene photos) reports that the Obumseli family’s lawyer Larry Handfield spoke of “closure” after the hearing. “I don’t think there’s anything that she could say that can change what happened” he said. “The most important thing is that the family wanted someone to accept responsibility, and the family saw that today. She is a convicted felon for the rest of her life.”
