Adult performers and creators have come together to launch Hot2Vote, a coalition urging people to check their voter registration in Atlanta. The $100,000 ad campaign launched on September 17, touts the tagline: “The stars always check their status, and so should you.”
Georgia canceled nearly half a million inactive voter registrations last year, and “voter purging is real,” according to the campaign, and many may not know that they are no longer registered. Pin-up style posters, placed in Atlanta’s nightclub districts encourage everyone to check their status at hot2vote.org, confirming they’re still on the rolls before the midterm elections in November.
The Atlanta metro area serves as the central battleground for Georgia’s highly competitive statewide races and local congressional seats. This includes the Gubernatorial Race with former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (D) running against healthcare businessman Rick Jackson and the even more closely watched U.S. Senate race betwee incumbent Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff and Republican Congressman Mike Collins. Open seats have also triggered fierce fights for constitutional offices, including Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General and Secretary of State
Hot2vote is also running ads matched to voter records and pre-roll ads on adult sites across Georgia and some performers will be handing out posters and QR codes in person. With popular Atlanta performers such as Hazel Grace, Holly Hendrix and Casey Calvert taking part, the effort is gaining visibility for the issue and expects to reach 400,000 to 450,000 people in the area. The group has also created a YouTube page with stars including Cherie DeVille, Kimmy Kim and Mickey Mod urging everyone to “check your status.”

While Hot2Vote is a nonpartisan project of Artists United for Change and the New Moon Network, adult performers have been one of the most affected by recent legislation from Republican lawmakers aimed at quashing the industry, imposing age-verification laws, and regulating sexual expression. The campaign is focused on Atlanta specifically, but it’s a reminder that all Americans should make sure their voter registration status is accurate and active now. If you have recently moved, had a name change, any periods of voter inactivity, modified your political party affiliation or not received any election-related materials, check your status at usa.gov/confirm-voter-registration or just go to Hot2Vote.org, which uses VoteAmerica technology, is up to date with every state’s rolls and does not use or sell your information.
