Though OnlyFans and sites like it are increasingly recognized and accepted as viable forms of income and entertainment by mainstream media, adult users, and even celebrities, the pearl-clutching contingents, especially in governing-related institutions like schools, continue to discriminate (especially against women) who choose to participate.

Sheena Sittner was a substitute teacher in Ballwin, Missouri, in St. Louis County, but she lost the job after school officials discovered her OnlyFans account and the staffing company that hired her let her go, adding that she should not to contact any school for work or even to visit in the district, which includes the one her own young son happens to attend.

Sittner tells FOX 2 she had maintained the OnlyFans account for more than two years, about as long as she had been a substitute teacher, without incident. Kelly Education, the staffing company that hired her, put her on suspension pending termination, after the school contacted them and they told her by email to “please refrain from contacting any school or districts.”

A school district spokesman told FOX 2 that the mom should be treated like any other parent, pointing to things like volunteering as acceptable, since she passed a background check and completed required online safety training. Kelly Education, which did not reply to the news outlet when asked to explain its stance, seemingly decided to take an overzealous approach to the situation.

Sittner told the outlet that her substitute teaching career is now over, but that she does plan to volunteer at her child’s school, adding that her reasons for the side hustle to begin with are reflective of the struggling economy and long-standing unfair wages for educators. “If teachers were paid better, women wouldn’t have to resort to online content creation. Sex sells,” Sittner told FOX 2. “It’s like all of a sudden I’ve done something so wrong and sinful…”

“I can find another job,” she added. “I can handle the backlash and the criticism, but when it affects my child or my children, that’s where I draw the line.”

Siitner isn’t the only woman who has been punished for doing OnlyFans. In March 2024, Fox News reported that another Missouri teacher, Brianna Coppage, resigned after her school found out about her OF page, and then she got fired from her subsequent job as well.
